Journal Care

Your journal is meant to be lived with. It will soften in your hands, warm in your bag, and gather small signs of the life you bring to it. With a little care, it will age in a way that feels honest and beautiful.

Daily handling

Hold it with clean, dry hands. Leather has a quiet memory. It absorbs the moments you spend with it.

Sunlight + heat

Keep it out of direct sunlight for long stretches. Warm, natural light is fine, but harsh sun can shift the tone of the leather over time.

Moisture

If your journal gets damp, let it air dry naturally. Don’t use heat or hair dryers. Leather prefers patience.

Cleaning

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners or anything harsh. Leather likes simplicity.

Conditioning

Every so often, if the leather looks thirsty or dull, a small amount of leather conditioner can be worked in with a clean cloth. Just enough to bring back its softness.

Cords, charms, and add-ons

If you change your wrap cord or add extra bands, lightly burn the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying. A quick pass through the flame is all it needs.
Charms can be wiped clean with a cloth, and cords can be rotated if they begin to wear.

Storage

Slip your journal into a pouch or drawer when you’re not using it. If you carry it in a bag, give it its own pocket to help prevent scratches.

The beauty of use

Small marks, softened edges, and gentle wear are part of the story. Your journal isn’t meant to stay perfect. It is meant to become yours.
